“YEF has changed my life!”, a tale about company placement measures towards greater youth employment in Serbia

May 11, 2011

Within the Youth Employment and Migration (YEM) programme, a special Youth Employment Fund (YEF) has been set up by the UN agencies and the Government of Serbia. YEF provides a package of measures aiming to increase employment and improve the employability of disadvantaged youth through work placements, training and self-employment grants.

Almost 2000 people have participated in YEF so far. About 1400 people have undergone vocational training, for various professions, especially for jobs in the field of production. Over 400 young people have been employed in companies while 138 people have started their own businesses.

Young people from across Serbia share their success stories.
