Join UN Environment in celebrating World Environment Day 2018!
World Environment Day is one of the UN's most important days for encouraging worldwide awareness and action for the protection of our environment. Since it began in 1974, it has grown to become a global platform for public outreach that is widely celebrated in over 100 countries.
Following this year’s theme: Beat Plastic Pollution – If you can’t reuse it, refuse it, United Nations Environment Programme (UN Environment) organizes a series of events and inspires for action worldwide. In Republic of Serbia, UN Environment Vienna Programme Office, supported by regional NGO Forestry and Environment Action – fea and professional association Environmental Ambassadors for Sustainable Development, has published a creative competition call for students attending 1st to 4th grade of elementary school. The aim of WED celebration and this competition is to raise children's awareness on negative impacts of plastic waste to human health and environment, possibilities for reuse and recycling of plastic material, as well as adequate disposal of plastic waste.
Description and conditions of the call can be found here (in Serbian language).
